i know it's been a while ...
actually it's been months ...
my well was kinda dry and it's been a busy time
in this time i was lucky to witness a concept i always believed in ... ( but never saw it this close :D )
it was simply witnessing the process of continuous learning
the story starts simply by a congress of beating heart in KKUH ( the hospital i am training in as a King Saud Univeristy medical student ) a friend of mine signed in ...
i said aaaah -_- beating heart surgery
i am not intreseted into cardio-thoracic surgery ( i actually hate it ) although i do miss the OR and seeing a surgery
so i made the decision by my usual stupid naive aproach ( if i woke up in the morning in a good mood i am signing in .. tommrow )
it was a good mood . . .
what interested me the most wasn't the Beating heart Surgery nor the robotic cardiac surgery ... what did interest me .... was the Audience ... i was actually setting in the row next to a teacher of mine ( in cardiology ) ... both of us listening to the same lecture ... and acquiring new information .. a guy double ( if not triple ) my age with a great difference in experience , and both setting in the same lecture ...
behind me was a Cardiac ward nurse ( a guy that i noticed his great work in the ward daily for the last month ) actually he knew the system and some of the tests better than some doctors ..
then there was our Teacher in psycatry .. .... .... .. ( i know there is psychatric complecation for the heart surgery specially on pump ) but was it actually his main reason to come in ?! can't tell
every one was setting so eager wanting to learn more ....
i said ah .. this is the bueaty of medicine .. it teaches your curiosity
it starts with a simple interest
progresses to a method of learning ... ( active or passive )
what makes a difference is ... :) to some people ( who usually do really well ) it turns into curiosity this curiosity drives their thinking , research , achivments and reactions
it was a simple experiance , but i wanted to share it with you
how interest can collect a lot of people into one room ...
how interest starts learning and curiosity which turns to give outcomes and achivments
a simple logical well known facts , lucky me i saw it by my Eyes :)
